Next Steps

What Happens After You Send the Form?

Our office reviews your request and calls you during business hours to book a free visit. A contractor comes to the property, measures the work and checks for tree roots, curb damage and drainage. You then get a written estimate, and nothing moves forward until you approve it.

  1. We call you

Our office reaches out to confirm the details and pick a visit time.

  2. Site visit

A contractor inspects the sidewalk or masonry and marks every problem area.

  3. Written price

You receive the scope, the price and the warranty terms in writing.

  4. Permit and schedule

After you approve, we file the DOT sidewalk permit and set a start date.

What Should You Include in Your Request?

A good request has three things: the property address, a few photos of the damage and a copy of any DOT violation notice. With those, we can see the size of the job, check the listed defects before the visit and bring the right information with us.

  • Photos. Take one wide shot of the whole frontage from the curb and a few close ups of the worst cracks or raised edges.
  • Violation notice. If the city sent you a Notice of Violation, photograph every page. It lists the defects that must be repaired.
  • Address. Include the corner if the property sits on one, since a corner lot has sidewalk on two sides.
  • Other work. Mention steps, a driveway apron or a brick wall if you want them looked at during the same visit.

Not sure whether you have an open violation? Our sidewalk violation guide explains how to check.

Pricing

What Affects the Price of Your Job?

The price depends on how much concrete needs to come out, what is under it and what surrounds it. Square footage matters most, followed by tree roots, curb work, access for trucks and any permit or landmark requirements. That is why every estimate is based on a site visit, not a phone guess.

Size of the area

More flags or square feet means more removal, concrete and labor.

Street trees

Pouring around a tree pit takes extra care and time.

Curbs and aprons

A damaged curb or driveway apron can join the same job.

Access

Busy avenues, narrow blocks and parking limits affect the schedule.

Permits and rules

The DOT permit and any landmark approvals are part of the scope.

Finish

Some blocks need a special finish or historic material.

Your price: in writing after a free visit. No surprises later.

Yes. The site visit and the written price cost you nothing, and you are under no obligation to hire us.

Not an accurate one. Sidewalk jobs vary with size, tree roots, curb condition and access, so we price every job after seeing it. Photos help us plan the visit.

We set the visit time with you when we call. Tell us then if you cannot be there, and we will agree on how to see the work area and go over what we found with you by phone.

Yes. If your steps, driveway apron, brick wall or basement also need attention, tell us in the form. We can look at everything in one visit and list each item on the estimate.

We give estimates in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx. See the full list on our service area page. We do not work on Staten Island.
